Villa Añoranza

Objective

  • Villa Añoranza transforms a multigenerational family home into two distinct yet connected living spaces, honoring its legacy while embracing modern design.

Design

  • The main villa was reimagined with an open layout, blending living, dining, and kitchen spaces into an airy great room as the central gathering hub. Natural wood, organic materials, and large windows created warmth, while soft arches, rough-hewn stone, and plaster finishes retained the villa's old-world charm. Wall-to-wall sliding doors in the great room connect the interior to the courtyard, merging indoor and outdoor living. The casita’s functionality was enhanced with a full kitchen, bath, wine bar, and mudroom. A wooden slat wall frames the staircase, opening the space and adding visual interest.

Execution

  • The redesign embraces both tradition and modernity, updating the villa with open communal areas and natural materials while maintaining its historical character. The casita’s new features enhance its versatility, creating a seamless blend of past and present throughout the property.
