Agathus Studios draws its name from the Greek word Agathós (αγαθός), symbolizing goodness, utility, and a commitment to benefiting others—a philosophy that shapes our approach to design. As a boutique real estate investment and residential design studio, we specialize in transforming luxury single-family homes into intentionally-crafted spaces that reflect the lives, experiences, and aspirations of the people who inhabit them.
At Agathus, we understand the profound impact of one’s surroundings. We embrace refined but approachable living, creating functional, soulful spaces that elevate the everyday and foster moments of joy and reflection. Each project bridges old and new, with natural textures and materials that age gracefully, inviting a sense of connection, comfort, and warmth.
Agathus Studios was born from a shared journey between Haran and Jerry, who met in college while pursuing separate careers—Haran in law and Jerry in UI/UX design. After moving into a small New York City apartment together, they took on the challenge of renovating it. This project unexpectedly sparked a shared passion for interior design and planted the seed of a new beginning.
During the pandemic, a temporary move to California with their newborn turned into a permanent one. Inspired by the need for timeless, thoughtfully-designed luxury homes in Southern California, Haran and Jerry decided to pursue their passion full-time and combined their shared vision and diverse skillsets to found Agathus Studios. Today, Agathus Studios is an interdisciplinary team dedicated to designing homes that unite enduring beauty, functionality, and personal narrative.
